The Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail is privately owned and maintained by the Friends of the Dahlgren Trail nonprofit volunteer group and other devoted community members. Use of the trail requires a use permit, which is 100% free and is completed online. The process takes less than 2 minutes to complete. Users are not required to carry the permit on their person while on the trail, however we ask that you keep a copy of the permit that is emailed to you, for future reference. Thank you!
