Trail Use Permits

The trail opened in 2006 as a privately owned recreational facility accessible by permit. 
​

Once you have submitted your use permit application using the link above, you will receive an email receipt which allows you to immediately access the Dahlgren Trail. Please email our communications team if you have any questions.

​*Please note that horseback riding on the Dahlgren Trail is not permitted. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times while on the trail.
If you are an organized group or event, please complete the group use / event application below.

    Group Use / Event Application

    Please describe your participant safety plans, which must include: Who is responsible for site inspection, management of road crossings, plan for medical emergencies and/or evacuation, and the designated "Incident Commander" who will be in charge of contacting authorities or first responders (if needed).
    Please describe your spectator management plans, which should include: shelter, water, food, medical concerns (including heat/cold), and restroom facilities.
    How will the Dahlgren Trail be acknowledged within your event communications/promotions? We ask that you encourage event organizers and participants to donate to the Dahlgren Trail in the interest of maintaining and enhancing the trail: www.dahlgrentrail.org/treasure-the-trail
    To use the Dahlgren Trail for an organized event/group gathering, you must provide a copy of the event liability insurance policy as well as two additional insured documents naming the following:
